Our mission.
Generations Church is on a mission to lead generations to hope and purpose by helping people find, follow, and serve Jesus.
Our values.
We are devoted to God.
We submit to God’s authority and believe the Bible to be His authoritative Word. It is through God’s Word that we know who God is, what His expectations are, and the unbelievable grace given to us through the gift of Jesus. God’s Word, made alive to us by the work of the Holy Spirit, is the source of our teaching, and leads us to discover God’s best plans for our life. We yield to His supremacy by learning His Word, adjusting our life to what He says is best, seeking His guidance through prayer, and reflecting on His power, perfection, grace, mercy, and glory as we worship Him individually and corporately. (Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 7:24-25; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 10:25; James 1:22-27; 2 Peter 3:18)
We are transformed by Jesus.
Jesus is the only one who can provide us with a meaningful life now and eternal life in heaven, so we are committed to sharing the truth of God’s grace with our family, community, and with everyone else on the planet! No matter what has happened in the past, by God’s grace through faith in who Jesus is and what He did and is doing, we can be forever connected to and made right with God. (John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:13)
We are thriving together.
Ministry moves at the speed of relationship, so we look for opportunities to become an authentic and trusted friend to share the eternity-changing message of salvation through Jesus. God created us to flourish in the context of relationships, which is why followers of Jesus strive to walk in unity as we rejoice, mourn, love, learn, grow, and serve with people. (Luke 14:23, Acts 4:32-35; Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:14-18; 1 Peter 1:22)
We are most like God when we are outlandishly generous.
We are contributors, not consumers. God gives to us so He can give through us. Everything we have is a gift from God and we want to give back to Him and give generously in His name. We believe that every follower of Jesus is a missionary who leverages their time, abilities, and financial resources for the benefit of others, both inside and outside the church. We’re intentional with the collective use of our resources so we can best represent Jesus to the world in both purpose (what we do) and personality (how we do it). (Matthew 6:19-21; Luke 6:37-38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; 1 John 3:16-18)
We are always bringing our best.
Because of Jesus, we live as missionaries. That means we will do whatever it takes to help people find, follow, and serve Jesus. We prayerfully and in the context of relationship use everything at our disposal – our passions, abilities, creativity, partnerships, and finances – to remove every obstacle so people can encounter Jesus and grow to become more like Him. We reflect God’s glory through our presentation of who He is and what He is doing, which means we will provide excellent environments that communicate a timeless message in ways that are understandable and inspirational. We will need to say “no” to many good things to do what is most important. To reach people we haven’t been reaching, we will have to do things we haven’t been doing. (Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 9:24-25; Colossians 3:17; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 4:10)
We are multiplying things that matter.
God intends for His church to grow, not to function as institution to be maintained. We will intentionally multiply disciples and cultivate leaders to encourage and equip new and growing followers of Jesus. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to fulfill God’s mission to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. (Proverbs 11:14; Matthew 20:26-28; Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:2)
